Joseph grew up in a military family, so although he was born in Arkansas, he spent most of his life in Virginia and most recently, Georgia. He accepted Christ at the age of twelve, and felt called to the ministry at the age of 16. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Middle Georgia State University in 2016, and he is currently enrolled in the Masters of Apologetics, Philosophy, and Theological Studies programs at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Joseph has been married to Ashley since New Year’s Eve of 2016, and they have both been blessed to serve in various capacities together, serving in youth ministries, sports ministries, and camp ministries. They have a passion for serving students and families, and they have been at Harwood since January of 2017.
Laura grew up in Chicago, where she accepted Christ at a young age at a Swedish Covenant Church she attended with her family. After high school, she attended Westmont College and U.C. Santa Barbara, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology; it is also where she met her husband, Ryan. After getting married and moving to Sacramento, they had their two kids: Connor and Brie. While the kids were still young, they felt led to move to Long Island, NY, where their kids grew up and attended a small Christian school in the area. Laura and Ryan served in various capacities at the school and in their church for the 9 years they lived there, serving on the school board, Ryan serving as a deacon, and Laura as a Stephen Minister and member of the Discipleship Education committee at their church. In 2015, they moved to Colleyville, TX, where their children attend Covenant Christian Academy. After 17 years as a stay-at-home mom, Laura is very happy to be serving as the Ministry Assistant. She has been in that role since 2018.
